Specsavers

I’ve just seen an advert where Specsavers give 25% off for over 69s.

Is that age discrimination against younger people?

    Over 60 that should read.
  • Pensioners get free bus passes as well, and free prescriptions. Children don't pay VAT on clothes, so get them cheaper. Is that age discrimination?

It's age discrimination of course, but it's not unlawful age discrimination. It's one of the exceptions.

I'll happily pay that 25% extra for another 15 years.

Is it age discrimination that women can retire earlier than men but cry about equality? Or is that gender discrimination?

No, its just you derailing the thread with something the OP didn't ask.
You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means - Inigo Montoya, The Princess Bride

And with something that is longer true.

Men and women born on the same day now get their state pension on the same day - so no inequality or discrimination of any kind.

And of course, anyone can retire at any age - regardless of gender.

I think Boots is 33%!, just shows how much they make if they can afford to do that.
