So, the Guinness Storehouse is out of the question then? Well worth a visit if you're into the black stuff and there's a "free" pint at the end of the tour. Book online to jump the queue and save 10%.

Can you tell what we did last weekend? :D

Try and turn up at the same time as a school outing, like we did. They're not allowed to use their free beer vouchers and you're set up for the afternoon with free beer then

  • As everyone else says- book the Guiness Storehouse on-line.

If you want to do one of those ubiquitous city bus tours, book that on-line as well, as you also get a 20% discount via irishcitytours.com/specialoffers, then scroll down to the Dublin site seeing tour. I found this useful as the ticket lasts two days, and so i used it as a means of public transport when i was there.

Also, if you like whiskey visit the Jameson distillery. Again, 10% of tickets available on oldjamesondistillery.com. When you start the tour, as soon as they ask a question, put your hand up! This will get you the chance to be one of the tasters.

Whilst on the subject of alcohol, Dublin can be hella expensive. I did a backapackers pub crawl (backpackerpubcrawl.com), and managed to have a fantastic time for bout 30 euros- inlcuding the 9 euro fee to join!
