Barclaycard doing my head in (changing statement date)

At the moment, my statement date for my Barclaycard is such the my payment date is close to the month end, so in the event of weekends or bank holidays, my payment might be in one month, or it might be in the following month.
For example: I had a payment on 1st April, 30th April, with my next due 3rd June, and I had no payments due in May.
I have explained this to them, and asked them via secure message to change my statement date so that this does not occur, so that my payment is guaranteed to fall within a month every month.
Barclaycard and I have been sending secure messages between us for the last two weeks, as they cannot understand my request.
Could anyone advise me how to word my request so that their staff can understand it?

Why does it matter?0

Why does it matter?
The direct debit for my Barclaycard is currently set up with my Tesco current account, which are not based on calendar months, so it hasn't mattered. But now Tesco are reducing the interest rate payable to 1%, I can make better use of my Barclaycard direct debit elsewhere to act as a back-up to a Post Office Online Saver direct debit.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -

If it were me, I would make the request by telephone with one of customer service agents...I work within the voluntary sector, supporting vulnerable people to rebuild their lives.

I just prefer to do things in writing so there's a paper trail. I suppose I should have made the request nice and simple for them. Explaining exactly what I want to do is probably what has confused them ☺I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0 -
I have a few cards set up with a direct debit for the full balance, and in each case I've said (by either message or phone) 'please will you change my statement date so that the direct debit comes out on or after the 3rd of each month'. All, including Barclaycard, have understood and followed that instruction without a problem, with the exception of Newday who told me that their systems do not allow a change of statement date.0

Hopefully they've interpreted that request in the way you intended. If they took it literally though, they could have made the DD due on any date from 3rd to 31st.0 -
I’ve changed my barclaycard statement date on multiple occasions via secure messaging with no issues.
It must be the way you’re asking or wording the question.0 -
Barclaycard bills customers in 20 groups (at least it used to). Group 1 would be billed on the 1st working day of the month, Group 2 on the 2nd working day of the month and so on. They call these days Billing Days (for obvious reasons).
If you want to avoid payment due dates falling either side of the change in months, I would guess that you need to have either Billing Day 1 or somewhere after Billing Day 7.
Whether they can actually do this for you might depend on the Barclaycard you have. Certain card products can be allocated to a specific Billing Day and might be immovable. Effectively, you might have to change your card product and card number to get the Billing Day you want. If you have a standard card (if such a thing exists) you will probably be OK.
Anyway, rather than telling them when you want your statement to be produced (because that will always move about due to the Billing Day system) you perhaps need to ask them for a specific Billing Day (as mentioned above).0 -

Yes. I think I may have done too much explaining in my request, and confused them even more in subsequent replies.I consider myself to be a male feminist. Is that allowed?0
