POPLA Rejected

Hi Guys,
First off I want to say how I wish I’d found this place first and not rushed in to appeals, oh well.
Into my actual issue, I received a parking charge notice from ParkingEye for £100 back in February, it was a free car park where you have to enter your registration in a screen in the pub/hotel at the site.
I stupidly appealed to Parking Eye as I was sure that I had gone and entered the wrong registration (had picked up a new car), although by this point I honestly can’t remember if I got distracted as I walked in. It’s one tiny little screen on the entrance wall. Should have known they wouldn’t accept.
So I appealed to POPLA, citing the same reason as well as the fact that the evidence from Parking Eye was insufficient. All they had was a timestamped black and white photo of a number plate, no location data and no distinguishing features of the property. This too was rejected because of my appeal to Parking Eye.
In hindsight I know this was stupid so please, let’s keep discussion to what I can do now and not what I should have done. Although in my defence I have previously won multiple appeals to POPLA with similar arguments, but this was the old, fairer POPLA which allowed you to send follow up emails and have multiple lines of appeal.
The POPLA rejection went to my Junk inbox so I’ve only seen it this last weekend when I logged into a computer, I have about a week left.
I did start to read the newbies thread, but honestly the amount of stuff there just started to stress me out and confuse me.
What can I do next? No way am I paying £100 for a free car park! All help is appreciated.

All you can do now is sit tight and see if they issue a Letter Before Claim. If they do come back for help constructing a robust reply.
Before this happens you will be bombarded with debt collectors letters. You can ignore these.0 -
Did you actually use the pub's facilities and spend money
Clearly there is a link with the pub to Parking Eye as they have the machine inside.
Talk to landlord about this and request he cancels the ticket ... he can do it
POPLA are a fast dying dinosaur and whilst a win via them is a bonus, it really means nothing as the courts do not take POPLA into account
What do you mean you have a week left ???0 -
before you talk to the pub, post here what you intend to say firstFrom the Plain Language Commission:

Ok so I had posted a reply but it didn’t submit,
I haven’t contacted the pub yet, I was there for just under 90 minutes. There’s an online complaint form on their website or would it be better to email them?
By a week I mean when I got the rejection notice from POPLA they said I have 28 days to make payment0 -
If they have an online complaint form I'd be all over it, and TripAdvisor...By a week I mean when I got the rejection notice from POPLA they said I have 28 days to make paymentPRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

I’m going to use the online complaint form but I’m not really sure what to even say other than outline my visit and ParkingEye’s behaviour towards a simple mistake?
I’m drafting the complaint, at the moment I have
When I was there, and why
Why I’ve received a charge
My appeal to parking eye being unsuccessful and how their behaviour is disgusting and likely to cause me to not visit them again
Would it be a good idea to ask them to contact parking eye to cancel the charge as well?0 -
Yes and give them the xxxxx/xxxxx PCN number. Write it in your own style.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

This is the reply I got back from the restaurant:
I'm so sorry to hear that you have received a parking fine after using our car park and it's disappointing to hear that the experience with the company who owns our car park, has made you feel like you may not want to visit us again. Unfortunately, we have no power to dismiss your charge as we have to abide by the terms and conditions of this third party company. For this reason, they get the final say when it comes to parking fines. I understand your frustration towards this situation considering this is a result of a mistake however we are unable to help with this. I will however send your feedback on this matter to the team that deals with this so that they can evaluate if there's any changes that can be made in order to prevent are guests being unhappy in regards to the car parking facilities we use. I apologise for the disappointment and the inconvenience that this causes.0 -
Reply back to them and tell them that is essentially b*****ks
They hired them so they can get it can cancelled0 -
Who is this third party company?
Does the restaurant own the car park, or are they tenants on a site shared with other buisnesses? From the Plain Language Commission:
