Hi all,
Look time reader, first time poster.
I’m looking to downsize so have put my house on the market however after 1 week there have been no viewings. I would appreciate some advice as to why people think there may not be any viewings?
I would post a link but am not allowed. House is in Dedham, Coopers Lane, 4 bed detached at £600k.

Is it the 3 bed at offers over £600k.
Is that the one? This beautiful property is ready to be sympathetically restored to suit your own preferences to create a breathtaking family home
Edit: poster above beat me to it . .0 -
If it is that one, the description says 3 bedrooms."If you think it's expensive to hire a professional to do the job, wait until you hire an amateur." -- Red Adair0

Wow, a week and you're panicking? Chill! You'll not make it to completion at this rate...
There's nothing inherently wrong with the details. Decentish pics, floorplan - a bit more description wouldn't hurt, but it's not a showstopper.
Sure, it needs a facelift inside - but the description seems to recognise that.
Not much that's really comparable, but... I guess there's some wrinkles of location detail...

Hi. Assuming this is your house, I would ask what the best thing is about your house and put that up front.
Perhaps keep a front of house picture to start but put a couple of good sized plants either side of the front door to break up the facade and show where the front door is.
Then I would put in the back garden photos. It clearly is in a lovely location.
Unfortunately it looks a little dated inside. I would thin some of the furniture in the bedrooms especially the master bedroom and perhaps the dining room or at least have the pictures taken so that you can’t see so much of the wood furniture.
I wouldn’t have a photo of the chairlift or the bathroom. People are going to assume that it needs a bit of updating from the other rooms.
Why are the blinds shut on the conservatory. Looks like it has a great view.
On reflection I would open all the blinds so you can see out.
I wonder if the kitchen photos could be better. You could try talking some from different angles to see if it looks better.
I am sure others will be along to give their ideas.
Best of luck

Street View link is to somewhere quite far up the road - always a pain to play "hunt the house" when it ought to take you straight there.
As above, the blinds being closed seemed odd - usually I assume it means a terrible view, though can see from the outside photos that isn't the case.0 -
A lovely house but not the type of property for a fire sale, as it's on the upper scale of the market (I assume) so less people and whoever is going to buy it will want to roll it into the current century, so let's say circa £50K to £100K cash budget. If the price is correct I would think 6months on the market maybe before someone who needs such a property buys it. It's like on a back road, so again the market is smaller.
Just relax and wait, 6months to 1year to sell properties like this.0 -
One of those properties that has been ''well maintained'' to use agents language.
In other words the 30+ year old kitchen and bathroom and decor have been well looked after, but in reality it still needs a very expensive and messy total refurb0
