Leave BT Sport (temporarily?)

Hi. I received an email today from BT Sport saying that they will be adding £2 to my monthly bill for BT Sport which I receive through TalkTalk. It will now be £29.99. When I signed up to BT Sport in Sept 2017 it was £22.99. I only use BT sport for football, and as the Champs League group stages don't start until September, I'm wondering if this gives me a good opportunity to save some money by leaving BT - albeit temporarily. There was a £35 activation fee when I started, but I would save c£90 by leaving and re-joining. Can anyone see any issues with this? I see they have a 3 months for free sale on at the moment, so it may be that when I phone up to leave, I am given this deal anyway. Any advice much appreciated, Cheers.

Check as it could be a rolling 30 day contract .Or it could be a 12 18 24 month contract and you could be out of contract now .

    note

I get BT TV max channels with BT Sport HD / UHD for £25 less £10 discount pm via BT BB .

Thanks JJ - Yes it was a 12 month contract when I signed up in Sept 2017 so I assume I am well clear of it now... unless the 12 month automatically renews....!?

If a company hikes the price above the rate of inflation, minus VAT, you could leave them even in contract. I did this with BT in 2016 they increased my package more than the rate of inflation, they tried to get over £200 out of me until I emailed the CEO and pasted a piece about ofcom taking a dim view of a package raising by more than the rate of inflation. they dropped the £200+ like a hot coal, they possibly didn't want to fight it.
Someone please tell me what money is
