I use a squirt of bleach in a bucket of hot water and mop over. Does this mean I'm damaging my flooring?

As I mentioned earlier, I called the Cif helpline, about their floor cleaners NOT saying Ok for laminate, oin the pack.

They were really specific as to this being a particular reason & said 'check with the floor makers too'.

So the soapy labeled, specific for laminate or wood, aren't just a marketing ploy!!

Looks like you'll need to spend £1 down at Wilkos!!

Having done quite a bit of research into this, DO NOT use soap or chemical cleaners (including bleach) as these will invalidate your floors warranty.

Whilst there are a lot of cleaners out there stipulate 'suitable for laminate flooring', most floor manufacturers will void your warranty if you use them.

It appears from my reseach of this that the best way to clean them is with a soft brush and pan, to remove and grit and dust, make a spray of 4 parts water to 1 part white vinger, lightly spray the floor and clean with a microfibre mop or cloth. If you've allowed it to get quite bad then the same mixure in a mop bucket and a well-wrung microfibre mop ensuring it's dried immediately.

Pasturesnew comment was pretty much spot-on, right up to the point they mentioned hot soapy water. I tried to post a link for a google search but as I'm a noob here they won't let me :(

You can get proper laminate floor cleaning products which leave a protective layer on the floor. Usually in a spray form to wipe off.
