    Car Insurance Carver!
Glad kitty is ok, so scary when they get hurt! My dogs have probably cost a small fortune, but honestly, the value they hold is way way more!

Best of luck, sounds like you are making great progress!

  • Been a while since I updated last!

Still trying to make overpayments and save save save at the same time.

Realistically I need to increase my income to start making super major inroads, which i might think about next year if I see no promotion or payrise before January.

Not done anything else to the house recently just enjoying our own little haven!
  • Payday Monday and we will see our mortgage go below £200,000!

I am due to receive some share money from a buyout which i think i will put half into overpaying. It's not a huge chunk but a nice unexpected bonus. That should come through in November when I am also due a pay increase, again 50% of that I hope to put into over payments from next year (going away for Christmas so will put pennies aside for that too!)

We are going to get the kitchen and bathroom done next year, but I will take that from our savings and work to build them up again. Have zero idea how much that is likely to cost however!
  • How exciting to reach a big milestone! Congratulations!

A friend of mine has had her bathroom and bathroom done in the last two years and she paid around £10k on each. It seems quite high! Do you know which companies you want to go with?
  • Payday again! I got some great news yesterday. I have been awarded a substantial bonus from work and received a promotion with a 7k payrise! Great news for the mortgage and I will be looking to increase my over payments with my extra pennies.

I'm going to sit down and do some work on our budget as I feel we could make some savings here and there which i will put into place next year (v. Busy social time for us at the moment plus going on holiday in December)

I feel so pleased and plan to continue to make equal payments between savings and over payments.

    Happy times in this household!

Amazing! That'll be about £350 more a month assuming you're basic rate taxpayer. You must be so pleased.
  • Thanks both! I'm so pleased.

Hopefully this will enable us to make a bigger dent in the mortgage and allow my savings to grow more too ready for the new kitchen and bathroom we are going to put in next year. Might even bring that forwards now.

woah it's been a while since I last updated this. A lot has changed.
Hubsand left me at Christmas so it's just me in the house now. which has stalled my overpayments on the mortgage until I can remortgage it in my name, as I don't want him benefiting from any over payments I make.
I'm now in 2 minds about what to do - do I sell up and move, start fresh, or stick it out here and see what happens. I think I'll stick to the latter, as I can bare the thought of physically moving!

Aww I’m so sorry. But better now I guess than wasting anymore time and energy on someone when it’s not working.
Hope you are ok. Ignoring the current climate, I would advise to stay put if you can and not to make rash decisions.
