Good luck with the cat...! I wasn't having any more but got hoodwinked by my 6 year old
Rescued an 18 month old in Jan who had only ever lived in 1 room, never been outside. she wasn't a 'peoples' cat, and not a cuddly lap cat. I loved her from the off 0 she shares my late mum's birthday. Then we got a Begal kitten and my life hasn't been the same since! What have I done???
The older cat has really come out of herself, very loving and playful now - and she goes out. Literally just 2 weeks of popping out, but doesn't stray far. The kitten is a typical Bengal, total nightmare, but very cute and playful. Not been out et. Being chipped on Wednesday and first injections..... then the big op before she can go out.
Both lovely…. good luck, hope yours doesn't stray far!

Well....we have a cat flap in the conservatory that was boarded up with a plant pot, 5:30am we usually get a morning serenade from the big cat wanting breakfast and all was silent today. Husband put their food out and only then realised we've never experienced that level of peace in the morning. They had managed to move the plant pot out of the way and worked out how to use a cat flap! little cat was in a tree and big cat was under the shed! I'm assuming they will have escaped again when I get home, so it would seem we have outside cats now.debtfreeoneday wrote: »Well done with OPs so far.. You are right, I just like seeing the money in my bank, but I will focus on getting those paid off. I actually just need to ask my friend to pay for his share of our flights to Japan and that would clear a chunk off one of them, So I'll aim to get these paid off, and then crack on with the rest.0 -
I have subscribed to your thread - my husband and i are about to move into our first home (also hopefully our forever home!) and seem to have similar mortgage payments and income to you although nowhere near the savings!0

good luck with the move!
Payday tomorrow wooo. June is going to be MY month, I am going to budget, learn where I spend my money, continue with my running and healthy eating.
Food shop arriving today, I can't quit Ocado, I just can't, no substitutions and when I priced up my basket compared to Sainsbury's there are essentially no difference. So, for now, it stays.
I intend to clean the house tonight, and if the weather holds, maybe mow the front lawn. I will meal prep some mozzarella stuffed meatballs for dinner tomorrow.0 -
Payday! I have been fairly organised today.
Household Bill money moved to the bills account
Spending money moved to Monzo account
Savings have been moved to their account
I should be able to pay just shy of £1000 off my CCs which will make a huge difference
Looking like an OP of £146.00 this month on the mortgage and any spare money left before the next payday will be split between credit card, savings and overpayments.
I have no plans for this weekend, aside from a cheeky pay day pub lunch today with a colleague. Wetherspoons though, so costs will be limited.
My focus for June is to bring breakfast and lunch into work, stick to meal plan and see if I can shave money off food shop.
I also need to work out realistically how much I am spending on entertainment. I have a trip to Southampton planned for a Gig in the middle of the month, but no other major events, I hope it stays that way.
I need to work up the motivation to go for a run tonight after work, otherwise I'll go tomorrow, but I'd like to stick to every other day if I can help it.0 -
£176 overpaid this morning! We had a low spend weekend so hoping I can save some more dosh by the end of the month and use this towards my credit cards.
Sticking to the meal plan is working well. I had my longest run yet this evening after work.
Need to submit meter readings for gas and electricity to make sure those bills stay accurate.
Need to sort foodshop for the week ahead. Our freezer is bursting so will make use of what's in there if I can.0 -
First week of June done. I have logged every spend. I have gone over on groceries, so that needs attention. I did buy tons of new spices and things I don't but all the time so it should even out.
No major plans this weekend so hopefully won't spend too much. Plan on going for a run and general house things. Tidying wires, maybe a trip to the tip. Oh so grown up of me. We have no pictures hung so might attempt that. Put up a new blind in the bedroom. Little jobs.
Need to look at car insurance quotes.0 -
My intentions of a low spend weekend are going out the window. We noticed little cat had a nasty cut on her back leg. Took her to the vets (2 hour wait at the walk in) £88 later we have lots of medicine and she need to go back on Monday as might need surgery. Poor little thing.
Her fur hasn't grown back from her spay and now her leg is shaved too!
Still, it's money worth spending I just feel so bad for her.0 -
We are in our forever home too, but our mortgage is a bit more than yours - not massively so though.
Your SOA is WAY better than mine - I'm way too ashamed to post mine. That said, I have 2 children with additional needs and my DH and I both commute so our travel costs are significantly more than yours too. Boo.
That said, no pets anymore - they can be fairly expensive (as your post suggests).
Looking forward to following your journey.Reduction in daily mortgage interest since October 23 (new mortgage) - £2.36 July 25
