Even if it WAS 8pm at night (which you didn't say in your OP) you could easily have asked him to complete the work asap, bring his bill & say that you will pay it as soon as you see it!!

If you re-read my post you will see that I am absolutely NOT excusing shoddy work and people should NOT put up with it but you do need to SAY SO AT THE TIME!

There ARE people out there who will not pay up and then when you start chasing for payment they say "well it hasn't worked properly since you came out 6 months ago". This is despite seeing you around regularly, despite us having an ansafone to leave a message on and despite the work being OK when you leave their house. Funny that!:mad: I am NOT saying this is you Gaby - just pointing out that there is another side to the coin!

I am interested in the last line of your original post " but I do trust him".
