how to put an 02 sim into an Alba 1.8

OK - I know I know nothing!

I bought an Alba 1.8 basic mobile phone and I have read the instruction manual BUT I have never had to put a sim card into a mobile phone before and the instruction manual does not help with its pictures for this basic question.

1 The O2 sim has 3 sizes which can be pressed out - named as Standard sim, Micro sim and Nano sim. The instruction manual suggests the format should be a Mini SIM. By looking at the inside of the phone, I think that "mini" = "standard". Does anyone know?

2 Do I place this in so that the metallic side is top, ie visible when placed into the phone?

3 Do you slide these in, or just place them straight down?

I am really sorry for these basic questions but the helpline number given in the manual doesn't operate on a Sunday.

If you Google "Alba 1.8 phone sim insert" you will find the top results are Utube videos showing you exactly what to do.

You Tube turned up as the ninth link - but "is not available to me" and I should try again later. However I clicked on it and did see a video. Unfortunately it was of a young boy opening the box and, at the point where he presumably inserts the sim, the screen shows part of his hand and the corner of the case but nothing of what the phone looks like inside.

Another set were supposed to be about inserting sims in various mobiles but not much help without the sound. I think it answered point 3 - slide in.

I'll have to find a 6 year old.

The SIM will probably only fit in one direction, with the angled corner sitting where the end of the slot is angled. This puts the metallic contacts of the SIM onto the contacts in the phone slot.

If you manage to get it wrong, when you switch on it will say something like 'insert SIM', then try the other way around.

Yes, 'mini' SIM is the full sized one, micro and nano the smaller pieces you press out of it.

There could well be a little line diagram of a sim next to the slot. This will indicate where the corner cut out is positioned.

1 and 2 are the Standard SIM slots for your Alba 1.8; 3 is for the MicroSD card.

This is the user guide I found doing a Google Search, don’t know if it helps at all?
