A great riposte by coupon mad

Sometimes it's a good idea to join the game , providing it is a considered and well thought out reply , I know solicitor's do this all the time

I suggest you reply with that carefully worded reply , it really hits home now poor their client has been

You wouldn't put your cards on the table in poker , just because the opponent asked if you had an ace in your hand , you might reply asking if they had all the same suit in theirs

Yes join in the game, and I like to copy their words back at them as you can see!

The point of asking about the £60 is to get them to dig a hole they can't get out of, that you can show at the hearing.

In your case, do the signs actually state the £60 as a specified sum, or is it vague, or completely buried in small print but £60 is in there? Have a close look and tell us.

That is excellent. It isn’t a bad idea to communicate with them then.
That's not communication, that's a shot across the bows. It could be seen by the court as an attempt to "narrow the gap" between claimant and defendant, saving the court's time and reducing the expense.

A veritable Coupon cracker. After all, it's not far off Christmas! :)
Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .

I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

  • I am loving this. Thank you everyone. I despise these companies.

The £60 fine is on the sign but written amongst the smaller text.
  • It actually reads:

‘You agree to pay consideration in the form of a parking charge in the sum of £100 to be paid within 28 days of issue. This is reduced to £60 if paid within 14 days.’

    That's not the £60 I meant.

  • That’s all that is on their parking signs in regards to charges.

Jolly good, and you know from the CEC16 court report I wrote, what the signs in THAT case said about vague added debt costs (YOUR SIGN WILL HAVE THIS).

  • Excellent, thanks once again.

So it is worth adding this to the Witness statement about vague added debt costs being abuse of process?
