Hi
I am wondering if anyone can help. I invested £38,000 into a Fixed Interest Linked Gilt & Index-Linked Gilt around 17 years ago. I have made no withdrawals regarding this plan. I have made a chargeable gain of £41,057.52 on the gilts and wish to surrender this to pay my mortgage off. I am just wondering how I work out the tax payable on this investment. I am a basic tax payer.
Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you.
