esuhl I'd value your input especially. I have recently seen this video.
The user name is 'the mac address'@skydsl
the pass word is a string of 8 numbers and letters
I have the popular Asus ac-68
Is the MAC address from the side of the Sky modem-router important, or is some thing else missing?0 -

Yep -- that's what works for me.james_smitha wrote: »I have the popular Asus ac-68

I'm not quite sure what you mean. But, yes -- it's the Sky router's MAC address that's important. You need to connect to the Sky router, make a note of its MAC address, then disconnect it and connect your own router, then change its MAC so it matches the Sky one.
In case you need them, the other standard settings are:
VPI: 0
VCI: 38
Encapsulation: VC MUX
Protocol: PPPoA
MTU: 1492
PPP Authentication: PAP or CHAP
DNS 1: 90.207.238.97
DNS 2: 90.207.238.99
If you have difficulty getting extracting your username and password from the Sky router... the generic O2 login details might still work (as Sky took over O2 broadband). So you could try these. There's no guarantee that these will work forever, though.
username: install@o2broadband.co.uk
password: install
Hope that helps -- good luck!0 -
esuhl Many thanks for the settings. Truthfully, late on Saturday some thing made me do a factory reset of the router, so now all of the settings that you kindly list that I though was aware of work. The Asus dose appear quicker than it used to be0

Because at the point of asking I had all ready spent several days trying to sort matters unsuccessfully. I am now un-following the thread0
