Having ours done this week: 6" liner, back fill with vermi-whatsit (sorry, can't remember the exact name), new register plate and twin-walled stove pipe.
Had quotes from £800ish + VAT for just fitting a liner (no insulation) to the one we accepted, which was £1200 + VAT for the work detailed above. It was more than we thought it'd be, but we decided to go with a local firm who came recommended and sell/fit stoves all day long. They seemed to know what they were talking about, and will register the work with the LA. HTH. I think the length is 7.5m, but don't quote me on that as hubby is the one dealing with it!They deem him their worst enemy who tells them the truth. -- Plato0 -
Depends on the chimney sytem in place now?
if its a standrd chimney opening then it can get away with not being lined if prooved by a chiney sweep as being free from cracks or leaks etc, however there are a few guidelines you must follow
it is always recomended however to line the chimney with a flexible liner. This will protect the chimney from harm over the years and will provide a better draw as a chimneys need to be warm to get good draw, as its stainless steel (the flexible liuner) it heats up very fast giving better draw.
What size flue is the stove you wish to install?
