I used the above company to hire and automatic van because as we all know they are hard to come by so I read the recommadation from this web page about the bucks hire company so I give them a try "BIG MISTAKE". The company has a bunch of cowboys working for them trying to steal innocent hard working people money. This is what happened.
First of all I went on the web site the I got from this page to get a quote of how much it would cost to hire the automatic van for the weekend which was 7th August - 10th August an e-mail came back to me £139 so I thought fine I did this the thursday night so friday morning call them to say I was comming to pick the car up. When I got there the price had changed to £179 and was told it was a bigger van so I said ok. We went outside to inspect van and it was full of dent and scapes which I ponted out to the worker who was inspecting the car with me and was told it was being marked on the inspection sheet so I was not happy and started taking picture of the damage myself with my moblie phone of the damages to the van and I was ask why I was doing that and told him that I did not want to be blamed for the damages later the worker was not happy and ask me to hurry us as he was busy, but I took my time and took picure everywhere as their was so much damage on the van the worker was very unhappy about it. In the office i was told that the deposit was £350 if I was using a debt card and £250 if i used a credit card which I thought was funny as it is usually the other way around but I used my debt card and the took £350 deposit from the card and said that I could drop the car off on a sunday and leave the key in the reception and they would put the deposit back on my card when they inspect the car if their was no damage but "I did not trust them" as it was a room full of young guy and they looked like cowboys so I bought the car back on Monday and give the keys to them and I went down to inspect the van with THE SAME PERSON! who inspected the car before I took it. He them said the car was damaged and I was not going to get my £350 deposit back I became very upset as I had not touch the van in anyway and explained the car had a lot of damage before I took it away. I was told he was only a worker in the company and he had to report the damage so I was not getting my money back which was altogether with the hire fee and the deposit £528 then I got call from the hosipal that my mother was taken to the hosipal ill so I should come staight away I explained the situation to the worker who told me that his boss would not be back for an 1 HOUR so should wait to speak to his boss as he was not giving me my money back as a van was damage I start to get really unset as I KNEW I HAD NOT DAMAGED THE CAR AND IT WAS ALREADY THERE BEFORE I TOOK THE VAN AWAY PLUS MY MUM WAS IN HOSIPAL AND I NEEDED TO LEAVE STRIGHT AWAY but the worker who as the same person who inspected the car with before I took it did not want to know so I TOLD the hotel owner where the car hire was based to CALL THE POLICE them I remembered I took pictures as I was suspecting that they will try and do this by the way the worker was acting telling me to hurry he was busy when I WAS INSPECTING THE CAR a their was so damage on the car before I left and lucky for me my moblie dates the day the pictures was taken which proved the damage was thier before I hired it only then the agreed to give me my deposit back when the hotel owners got involed as I was making a lot of fuss. Please beware eveyone out there this company are cheating people out of thier deposits as if you do not have a proof that the damage was there before you take the van out that will be the end of your deposit and thier insurance has a min £750 excess.
DO NOT HIRE FROM THEM IT A SCAM!!!!!!!!!!!
If they had done this to you before please report them and save new innocent hard working people from this company.

I have used them on a number of occasions without problems fantastic bunch of guys who provide an excellent serive and automatic vans which you cannot find from any other company

I was there when this lady decided to kick up a fuss and may i say that i think the chaps in the office did a wonderful job and did not go down to her level

from what i have found out this lady
1 returned the van late
2 had someone else driving when not insured
3 was shouting and screaming and was escorted off the premises by the police

The company clearly show details of their deposits and excess on their website!

I stumbled on this post when looking for any companies who rent automatic vans. I had found the buckscarhire place through another search and wanted to see if they were any good.

But the information on this page is not exactly independent judging by the user names of the various posters.

I think I will leave it and get a "man and van" locally.

Lol, i think the best thing is stay well away from this company!!!! Any fool can see what is going on here!
