Banks & Proof of Address...

Hi my people, I'm not too familiar with credit scores, reports, Equifaxes etc so I've got some questions for you. I'm struggling for proof of address documents and my roommate offered to attach me to a utility bill so I can get a PoA doc to open a bank account. I know some utility bills go on your credit report like gas, water but some don't (correct me if I'm wrong) like TV, phone, internet unless unpaid. As I will be removed out of the bill in a month after we get the doc, which one do you recommend I put my name on so it doesn't get on my credit scores? Also as I'm not an expert I'm worried that even though all of those are valid documents and I've checked eligibility in the banks' websites they might not accept them due to the fact that they're not on any database and when they open my Equifax report no water or TV bill will appear with my name and that address, would that be a problem? Or do they even check with the bill providers if the document is valid, surely if not any 15 year old could just photoshop their name and address and get the job done?
Would also like to ask you lads which banks would accept verification documents sent online, I know for a fact Santander do.

Are you on the council tax bill, as this is valid proof of address - if not, why not, as this is a legal requirement?
They do check validity sometimes, particularly if they're suspicious of the documents provided.urs sinserly,

so I can get a PoA doc to open a bank account.
What is the reason you are getting a POA document? Do you hold POA on some one who lacks capacity for making decisions for themselves and trying to open a bank account on their behalf? If so, do you have your own bank account and can use a statement from that account as proof of address?
I don't believe that bills are checked against if it appears on your credit report at the time of opening, certainly not the case if you apply in branch for a bank I know about.
As for wether you can upload ID documents online, the actual opening of the account online might be an issue if the reason for doing it is for someone you hold POA over and you might need to open it in a branch.0 -
I think the OP means Proof of Address, not Power of Attorney.0

Doesn't help the OP actually has a few threads about it.Mortgage started 2020, aiming to clear 31/12/2029.0 -

You keep asking this same question and it's becoming suspicious. Last time you wanted to add a friend to one of your accounts to give them proof of address, now the roles are reversed.
The first time you asked (this is now the third time) you were advised to open a Monzo account where proof of address isn't required, but insisted it needed to be a high street bank for an unspecified reason.
You won't be able to get proof of address acceptable to a bank for an address you're not living at (are you even in the country?). Give it up.0
