Park with Ease - White moss, Rydal

I was sent a letter on the 16th April for parking for 14 minutes and 24 seconds according to the ANPR cameras.

I emailed them on the 24th April to the listed appeals email address.

I said:
I entered the car park, read the terms of the contract and drove off as I didn't accept the contract. As you can see from the parking period I was there for a very short period of time.

But didn't include my full name, address and car reg in the email like it requested on the letter. (which I've just realised now). My partner is the registered keeper. The letters were addressed to her.

I thought I was there for less than 10 minutes, but apparently not. they have not acknowledged my appeal or replied in any way since. on the 2nd of May I received another letter saying the full amount is outstanding.

I guess I've admitted to being the driver as I said that I entered the car park.
Is being in the car park for such a short time a valid defence?

No, you didn't. The Keeper did, surely? They didn't have your details, you said?

Thank goodness you didn't actually give your details...YOU were the wrong person to appeal.

I made that email before I came here to read. I'll follow the normal process as outlined in the stickies via registered letter.

Nine times out of ten these tickets are scams and will fail in court so complain to your MP.

Parliament is well aware of the MO of these private parking companies, and on 15th March 2019 a Bill was enacted to curb the excesses of these shysters. Codes of Practice are being drawn up, an independent appeals service will be set up, and access to the DVLA's date base more rigorously policed, and persistent offenders denied access. Hopefully life will become impossible for the worst of these scammers.

Until this is done you should still complain to your MP, citing the new legislation.

Just as the clampers were finally closed down, so hopefully will many of these Private Parking Companies.
You never know how far you can go until you go too far.

Not registered letter! If you intend to post via snail mail, then send it at a post office and ask for a FREE certificate of posting. If you send it using any signed for service and they refuse delivery they can then legally say they didn't receive it and have proof.

You haven't confirmed who the letters are coming to? (hopefully the keeper).

Is there no online/email appeal the keeper can use? Post is the last thing we'd advise.

Make sure this time the keeper uses the template from the NEWBIES thread.

    :)

ok I will get her to use the template and to email it to the listed appeals email address.
I'll have another look for an online form but I didn't see one before.

But the PCN tells you how to appeal, you can't just Google for a random contact.
