plusnet hub zero versus sky q hub

Options
getting seriously low speeds having switched to plusnet , broadband via ethernet is fine, but wifi- even after changing channels to a less used one, and putting tablet two inches away from the plusnet router we were just getting 1.70 download speed on wifi.. i wonder, is the plus net hub zero crap, and should i swap back to my previous router which was the sky q hub.????

I don't think the Sky Q hub will work on Plusnet as there's nowhere to enter your username and password.

Any BT home hub, including the Smart Hub, will work once you've entered your Plusnet details. Think that's popular with lots of Plusnet users. There are lots available on eBay.

Of course you can always use any other modem router (or modem + separate router).

Perhaps you might explain how one can enter their Plusnet details into a BT Home Hub / Smart Hub? Whilst I can see my BT username in the Smart Hub settings, it's not obvious how I would change it; for example, clicking on the username does nothing.

Everything I've read suggests that BT Home Hubs / Smart Hubs are locked to BT.

I'm looking to do the same thing once I go live with Plusnet, and it appears fairly common. As a starting point:

Thanks. I found that clicking the "Disconnect" button on the Advanced setup page was enough to make the username and password fields become editable without needing to do a factory reset.
