They want the actual crime report. We've told them we have the number and the police officer involved but that is not enough for them. The police said that Amazon should know that its down to them to contact the police for the report but they wont do it. I've got a couple of calls to make on Monday morning to see if I can get hold of a copy.

As I said previously, your statement is a restricted document. It won't be given to anyone, not you, and certainly not anyone else (with the possible exception of the CPS if a charging decision is requested of them). It probably will be disclosed to the defendant or their legal team, but only if/after they are charged in relation to the offence you allege. Any popo knows that.

But it seems this thief is prepared to reimburse you in full, if you tell them what you told the police.

Not sure what type of thief does that, but I can see you probably will have to go and provide an updated statement to the police soon. Lets hope the police don't nick you for wasting their time when do that - as they will have all the evidence.

    Blimey you talk some tosh.

Op, have you tried reporting it to Action Fraud and giving the reference number to Amazon? Failing that, you should continue through your card company.

Game-Over, what is your problem? First of all you dig up a post from 8yrs ago and reply with a sarcastic comment then you go full on Perry Mason and start babbling on about me forgetting what I told the police and hoping I don't get nicked for wasting police time.
Read the post again, it really is quite simple. AMAZON WANT A COPY OF THE POLICE REPORT FROM ME BEFORE THEY CAN ISSUE A REFUND. THE POLICE HAVE SAID THAT THEY CANNOT GIVE ME A COPY. AMAZON HAVE TO GET IN TOUCH WITH THE POLICE STATION THEN THEY WILL BE ABLE TO GET A COPY.

Now, I don't know if Amazon know that it is difficult for me to get a copy but they refuse to get in contact with the police, even though they have all the details that they need.

Amazon have stated in their emails that they will not except any correspondance from Action Fraud.

Do you have a facebook account? If so go to their Facebook page, and post your problem. Big companies hate being made to look bad on social media.

Already done that, you only have to go on their FB page and see the amount of complaints that they are getting.

No need to apologise. I'm more than happy when people put constructive ideas on here.

Last time I reported a crime, I received a letter from the Police confirming the crime reference no. Ask for a letter like that and send that to Amazon.

You're probably right, i thought the same thing all along but when you've got a company that is not even prepared to speak to the driver who drove past my house with my delivery then parked a mile away, stayed there for hours before returning the parcel to the depot, something is not right. You only have to do a bit of research to see the level of thieving that is going on in the depots and with the drivers.

The link you posted says security staff were responsible. They're really the only people who stand a chance of stealing from amazon without getting caught and they'd really have to do it as part of a team due to the way amazon operate. I was in one of their centres for its opening and its not a place I'd want to work. Prisons could probably learn a thing or two from them.

    That's a shame.
