Having reviewed my and Mrs Heedtheadvice's portfolios we have decided on changes.
I could do with some suggestions as to where to find ones to meet our aims.
Out go a couple of corp bond unit funds owing to poor performance and/or poor 'yield' over the longer term.
We still have plenty of 'bond' and other non equity investments and sufficient in uk property assets, excluding the marital home, but not as part of the portfolios - a bit too much to go into detail here! Cash levels higher than we would like so maybe 15k will be swopped into investments so looking to buy something like £30k to replace all those.
We like a mixture of adventurous/ higher risk (already have smt, BG shin nippon, Law debenture etc.) and mid equity risk and lower risk bonds as ITs and Unit Trusts inclucing some very high yielding ones. Includes mix of small to large company underlying assets. Some there for shear gain and others for income. Seems to have done as well or better than many an index overall. Happy to stay that way for and consider the next ten years.....but.....
Geographic spread not ideal. Need to increase exposure to N America and Asia (ex Japan). Uk, Eu, China, E markets etc etc. we are comfortable at current levels.
Would like new investment to be more into sustainable and ethical areas.
I'll not hint at what we have looked at so far so as to be open to all suggestions without pointing in particular directions
except geography and type. Mix to produce about 4% yield or equivalent.
Any suggestions?

I looked into this quite a bit recently and opted to buy into the Baillie Gifford Positive Change B Acc (GB00BYVGKV59) fund with iWeb: https://www.markets.iweb-sharedealing.co.uk/funds-centre/fund-supermarket/detail/GB00BYVGKV59 It is an actively managed fund but the fees are low (0.6% OCF). It was launched in January 2017 and has risen 61.8% in value. The fund's policy is to: "To invest in the shares of companies globally whose products or behaviour make a positive impact. This will include companies addressing critical challenges in areas such as, but not limited to; education, social inclusion, healthcare and the environment." There is more information here: https://www.bailliegifford.com/en/uk/individual-investors/funds/positive-change-fund/about-the-fund/0 -

The Rathbone bond looks well worth considering for a low risk ethical option.
Royal London (RLUM) are decent, but Rentokill near the top of their investment list does not inspire me.
L&G have low fees and offer ethical options, but be careful of the differences in buying and selling prices of units.0 -

Took a quick look at that. It appears to be investments in bank bonds.
Where does the "ethical" bit come in? What's "ethical"about, for example ,
RL Finance Bonds No. 3 plc 6.12% ?0 -

So, directly HSBC (to pick another of their top bond holdings) doesn't get involved in armaments manufacturing, animal testing, fossil fuel extraction and a whole other list of no go areas. But, what's the betting that via lending, it does, in some at least of that list of excluded areas. So it seems to me to be a bit of a smokescreen, eg they are not going to take out a bond issued by Acme Armaments or Oil Spill Corp, however it's quite possible that HSBC might have loaned them money or those companies may bank with HSBC0 -
I would put Impax Environmental Markets IT into the hat for consideration0
