Problem with Virgin [Merged]

You still haven't actually said what Virgin want this £20 one off and a monthly fee thereafter for? What were they going to do exactly? Are you sure it's not just been a miscommunication between the two of you?
Virgin are supplying my broadband and hence anything I choose to do on that broadband should be OK. Plus they display and boast of their speeds being the best for streaming. Hence it is not unreasonable of me to expect them to support Prime or Netflix etc.
Virgin wanted to take over control of my TV remotely and presumably apply the simple fix and they wanted me to agree to a fee and a subscription which as I have said I refused.0 -

Fix on TV ok presumably a firmware update.
Subscription for what is the question .0 -

Not even a firmware update (Virgin wouldn't/couldn't do that anyway), it's apparently a known problem with the Amazon Prime app on certain TV's and the solution is to turn it off and back on again.0 -

Couldn't agree more. Only last week I wanted to drive on a road near my house but it was closed due to an accident. I complained to BMW but they didn't want to know.
BMW are supplying my car and hence anywhere I choose to drive in that car should be OK.:mad:0 -

Yes, it really is unreasonable of you I'm afraid. If you had an issue with Whats App on your smart phone and you were using your WiFi do you really think Virgin could/would help you? It's the same scenario.0 -

If the WhatsApp screen showed a message asking me to contact the service provider I would do.
Let's not forget that Virgin did not say "take it up with Amazon or Sony" - they said the would resolve it but at a cost".0 -

If BMW were advertising a service and promoting said service to the extent that they boasted that they were more suited to what you were doing than others supplying a similar service, I would expect to be able to use it for the purpose for which it is advertised.
Your comparison is similar to blaming the Virgin for an electricity failure - that would be unreasonable.0 -

They were offering a "technical support" subscription and it would mean that I could approach them at anytime on any device and they would help me. Details here: https://www.virginmedia.com/help/gadget-rescue-faqs0 -

That sometimes works - in my case you had to go into the settings and make adjustments.0 -

They should support my use of streaming because they advertise that they do!
I have put this on the other thread too https://www.virginmedia.com/help/gadget-rescue-faqs0
