Well can't i throw some malaysian consumer law at them,
If you are well versed in Malaysian consumer law and have the resources to back up this knowledge with appropriate action (possibly legal) in that country, then why not?If you are querying your Council Tax band would you please state whether you are in England, Scotland or Wales0 -

Better to have £230 than nothing.0 -

I'm afraid that's the situation you entered into when you bought from overseas to save a few quid. If their offer of £230 still stands, I'd definitely accept it. They could withdraw that offer and there would be nothing you could do about it. There are plenty of tales on here of people who've "saved" relatively small sums on expensive electrical goods then found that when things don't arrive or go wrong, they have little or no support or recourse. If you could buy things from the far east much cheaper than you can from here AND still get the same support and consumer rights, a lot of UK retailers would go out of business tomorrow.

Yes, this.
You CAN open a case on ebay after 30 days....BUT the seller can close it, so it's pointless (ebay allow it for 'dialogue').
Think of this as a lesson on supporting UK (or EU) sellers, it's one that has cost you £70. Nowt in the grand scheme of things.0 -
Snap the hand off them for the £230. You're lucky they're offering you anything, in my opinion. You had it for 4 months and it cost you £17.50 per month for the handset. It's not the end of the world and you can pick up another decent phone for £230.0

That’s a good result in the circumstances, well done (assuming you have the money and not just the promise of it.)0
