and JB, those posts took up approximately 3mins 49 seconds of your working day! shame on you!:rotfl: :rotfl:

Ok, here is a cut and paste of what i put on my canine CV for sunday...

    Just for the record..

I joined "get the gavvers" Police in October 1901 with the sole aim to become a police dog handler.

Throughout the entirety of my career I actively assisted the dog section in a variety of ways during my free time, often taking annual leave to allow me to assist with initial training courses for handlers new to the dog section. I was also happy to help at "bite em up" kennels with cleaning, running dogs, feeding and general canine care. I was often trusted to be unsupervised with the animals I was handling.

I attended and helped with many of the training and refresher courses that took place throughout this time and as a result gained an excellent insight into training for various exercises such as tracking, trailing, searching for retrievable/irretrievable objects, obedience, chase and attack and chase and stand off etc.
I acted as “criminal” and was able to lay tracks and searches for the dogs as well as acting as a sleeve filler and runner on many occasions!!

I also assisted with the training of both passive and reactive drugs dogs and in a lesser way firearms dogs.
I regularly patrolled with dog handlers on night duties and was able to assist with “sweetener” exercises after an unsuccessful track or search.
Due to Ill health I had to leave my career but now wish to pursue dog handling from a different angle such as training. Cont
I have trained my own 2 dogs from puppies into the fields of obedience, tracking and search and was just about to enter competitions with them when a change of circumstances led to my moving into a rental property and them remaining for now in the care of my ex.

I have assisted numerous friends, colleagues and relatives with the training of their own dogs. This has included tackling problem issues such as overcoming separation anxiety and food and fear aggression. .

I have undertaken a lot of personal research into various training methods and am incredibly passionate about taking this forward. I would like if possible to develop a career from canine training, with my ultimate ambition being to work as a police dog trainer. I would love to be able to train dogs for “active” pursuits such as working dog trials, agility etc or within the field of law enforcement/security.

Although I have no formal qualifications at the moment I am more than happy to study towards any that may be required. I believe that with dogs it is the ability to read the dog through body language, expression and behaviour that leads to the greatest success.

Hope that all sounds ok, bit late now if not as i've already e-mailed it!!!:rotfl:
