You would really resent paying the same for 2Mb then ! OFCOM crow on about how they have given those that already have a good speed even more whilst failing to ensure many can get get even a basic service.

Ono is correct on provision cost. But the problem has improved very significantly over time

Looks like on forcasts USO may need to cover <2% when it deploys

If only I could get anywhere near 50Mb with fibre.

A maximum of 12Mb with FTTC is almost good enough for my needs but I do resent having to pay the same price for it than someone getting much higher speeds.
Have you looked at 4G? I'm currently in a caravan in Norfolk over 2 miles from the nearest cell and get better than 12Mbps down. Oddly enough up is always faster and often well over 20Mbps. Three regularly offer unlimited. I'm currently on 30GB from EE for £12. That said I am in the process of downgrading my FTTC to 36 at home to save a little as I'm only there half the year rather than use 4G at all times as it does seem slightly less reliable.

Thanks. I have read quite a few threads on here about it and will seriously consider it when my current contract ends. I get a very good signal here from 3 and if I could get unlimited data from them all I would then need is a good router.

Although the speed could be improved FTTC for me has been very reliable and much better than ADSL. I will follow any future threads on 4G reliability with interest.
