AIUI driving other vehicles cover is normally third party only so had the wife actually been covered, the friends car repairs would still have fallen to her and only any third party losses insured.

    How old is it?

If it's an older account, the terms you accepted at opening may have limited the bank to reporting to the CRA(s) only when you are in breach of your terms.

    About 30 years.
I dont think there was £1500 overdraft on it then.
