Credit Score Error

Hi, so I've had a really bad problem, my brother has a CCJ in his name, for some unknown reason it's showing on my credit file, I've had bailiffs coming to my address asking for money and it is showing on Experian also as being mine, we both have the same initials and obviously the same surname. How can I get it removed, it's correctly address in his name and if anyone looked into it they'd see it wasn't me and him instead. In addition to this I can't get credit anywhere I can't even get a overdraft as I look to go on holiday in addition to this my store cards are refusing more credit or even to renew my cards due to this error. What steps can I take? It's causing me stress after stress. Thanks in advance.

Contact the CRA’s and raise a dispute with each one.
If they don’t comply go to the ICO0 -
Well I called Equifax, they was useless the woman barely spoke English and kept telling me to sign up, when I attempted to no one would accept the option for me to get approved in addition it cost me money to do so. As for Experian I haven't spoken to them as yet, it's stressful also what is a ICO sorry about this but I'm fairly new to all of this and don't have much experience with credit score etc. Only about the issues I've had with mine. :mad:0

I am slightly confused about a few things here.
Firstly, you mention an inability to sign up for Equifax but appear to know that this ccj appears on your credit files. How exactly do you know this? Have you actually seen your credit reports from all 3 CRA's?
Secondly, even if your brother has the same initials as you the ccj wouldn't be issued with just initials and you say 'correctly addressed' which I am interpreting as showing his correct address. So are you saying that the ccj for a person with a different given name and a different address is showing on your credit files? Following on from this, I am surprised at balliffs turning up at your address. What did you say to them?
What exactly is this ccj for? Does the credit account to which this ccj refers also appear on your credit files?0 -

Is your brother financially associated with you for any reason?Your cholesterol levels are not seen, or used, by your heart and arteries, so ignore it.

There's no point contacting Experian first. You need to contact the lender first and foremost, as they are the ones who are responsible for submitting the information. Once you write (don't phone!) to them, and they answer you - you can bring it up to Experian if need be.Your cholesterol levels are not seen, or used, by your heart and arteries, so ignore it.

I have experian came back with the CCJ on it. - Experian
I checked Clearscore says I don't have one. - Equifax
I checked Noodle also says I don't have one - Callcredit.
With Barclays they check with all three of these. So probably sore Experians error.
I will call them in the morning and also follow with a email regarding this in complaints because this has been beyond stress, is there anything else I should check?I am slightly confused about a few things here.

Indeed I have checked all three CRA's for it. as discussed above. its only showing for Experian.
Well as for the initials thats the only error as it is for my brother as we found out what it was. Well the baliff asked for me and I told him that I have no idea what he was talking about he followed up with he will go back and look into it, then called me up next day and said sorry we got it wrong its for your brother, didn't hear from them again, but I did have to argue with him, because he kept saying 'its on your credit score record'.There's no point contacting Experian first.
