I'm trying to complete the AP1 form and I'm stuck. Any help is appreciated please
I am removing my son's name from a house which is in both our names, we inherited the house when my husband died and he lived in it at uni.
Section 5 - Documents - It says copies will be taken, some destroyed and some returned but I can't see which documents I need to send. Is there a list of documents I need to send?
Section 6 - Do I write both our full names?
Section 9 - What is 'service address'? Is it my home address where i want correspondence to come to or the address of the property? I want it to be my home address if it's for correspondence so do I X the last box and write in my home address
Section 10 - Again, is this the property address or my home address?
Section 11 - no idea what this means
Section 14 - Do i write anything in this section?
Section 15 - do we both sign as 'applicant'?
Many thanks for help with any of this.

Sorry, what do you mean by "YOU are removing his name"?
He is a joint owner of the property. You cannot remove the asset from his name. He needs to transfer his share of the joint ownership to you.0 -

Yes, you are correct, that's what I meant. (It just seems like ME as I'm doing all the paperwork as he's working abroad) I'll check through what I've done so far to ensure it is as you say.
I still need help pleaseLove living in a village in the country side0 -
So your husband dies, Probate was granted, and the property transferred into your and your son's names?
To transfer ownership into your sole name you need:
TR1
AP1
ID1
I assume you have read the guidance notes for each form?

clearly this is property specific- we do not know what documents exist for your property but for a simple transfer of an already registered freehold property I doubt any other document is required. (plus see below)
Section 6 - Do I write both our full names? No. You are the applicant as you are applying to have the property transferred intoyour sole name.
Section 9 - What is 'service address'? Is it my home address where i want correspondence to come to or the address of the property? I want it to be my home address if it's for correspondence so do I X the last box and write in my home address
This is the address that will be noted in the register as the new owner's address. It will be used by the Land Registry to contact the owner in the event that, for example, someone is attempting to register something against the title. Up to three addresses can be used. One must be a postal address; the others can postal addresses, box numbers, e-mail addresses or a combination of the three.
Section 10 - Again, is this the property address or my home address?
Ignore unless you are applying for a mortgage. This is for the address of the lender (hence reference to a 'Charge').
Section 11 - no idea what this means
some properties are subject to conditions rights of others - without knowing the property we cannot comment on whether this appies to your property. I suggest you look at your existing Title documents.
Section 14 - Do i write anything in this section?
are either you or your son using a conveyancer? If yes, enter their details. If not:
In section 1, in the first column list all parties to the transaction (i.e. buyer, seller, mortgage lender, landlord, tenant etc.) and in the second column enter the conveyancer that represented that party. If any party was not represented enter "None" in the second column.
Section 15 - do we both sign as 'applicant'?
No. You are the applicant.5. Documents Lodged With this Form
All the documents necessary to register the transfer must be listed here. For a standard freehold purchase or purchase of an existing lease these would be the DS1 (as evidence of discharge of the existing mortgage), the transfer deed, the new mortgage deed and the SDLT5 certificate. For the purchase of a new lease there would be no transfer but would instead be the agreement for lease (the contract) and the new lease itself. There may be other documents required such as a UN1/CN1 to remove a notice, a certificate of compliance with a restriction, an RX1 (when a new restriction is required) etc. If the applicant wants the originals of any documents to be returned then a certified copy should be lodged along with the original.
