My crystal ball tells me it's never had new spark plugs. It wouldn't surprise me if Kwik Fit tried to change them though.

    This made me smile.

59000 miles seems a bit early for injector issues. Split or loose air pipes can cause lumpy running and poor fuel efficiency, sometimes you can hear a whoosh when you rev the car with the bonnet open or see oily deposits by the split.
Is there any smoke from the exhaust when you rev it.

    No - exhaust runs clear.

    Any advice please??
I took my car to Kwik Fit for a standard service. It was working fine before I left it.!
They called me later to say there was a problem I couldnt drive it and they were getting their expert to have a look at it.!
Unbeknown to me this meant they were getting another local garage to have a look. When I got it back it was misfiring and the fuel consumption has now changed - its less efficient. Plus there are an additional 65 miles on the clock which cant be reasonably accounted for.!
I complained and was told to take it back to the local garage by Kwik Fit but they (Kwik Fit) would sort everything. The other garage then sent it to a 3rd garage - a 'Diesel expert'. The 2nd garage are now saying all 4 injectors need replacing and Kwik Fit wont cover this as they cant guarantee that it will sort the problem. They suggest I take it to a Volvo garage for a diagnostic and then bring it back to have the work done there - which I will have to pay for.
When I asked whats the connection between a service and the injectors they said the wrong type of oil might have been used. Apparently when they collected it from Kwik Fit it was undriveable , sounded like a tractor and had no power. This is all going to cost me a lot of money - Im unlikely to see much change from £2k. I can't afford that. Anyone got any advice please?

That was your first mistake.......next time ask around friends for local garage recommendations

So with it being a standard oil & filter change they probably let the village idiot YTS loose on it

Could the engine have been run with no oil? Sounds like its been wrecked if I'm honest.

Did the first garage note the mileage when collecting? Who did the 65 miles and why?

The second garage, apparently "diesel experts" are guessing what’s wrong.

Have you got a fault code reader? Might be worth plugging it in and seeing if it shows anything.

Have you checked your power steering fluid?

When did you last change spark plugs and have the timing checked?

It's a diesel, when was the last time you changed spark plugs and checked the timing on one of those?
