I've tapped my Amex card for values slightly above £30 at Aldi before. I'm sure there's somewhere else but I can't recall now...

On a side note, when did Aldi start accepting AMEX? My nearest 2-3 Aldi shops have never accepted it so i stopped trying a year ago.

    February 2018.

For completeness, re: Lidl, seems to be conflicting information. Any official line I can find seems to suggest they only started accepting it last month, yet I've been feeding my Aqua Mastercard (the cashback one) through it for at least the last year!

Yep lidl started a couple of months ago, there was an amex promotion offering 5 back on 20 spend.

    Another new record today, £92!

Going to go for the 3 figures next. Wonder what would happen of I claimed it wasn't authorised.....
    I think....

£92!!! That must be 2 trollies worth!!! Would've probably been nearer £200 in Tesco!!!
How's it going, AKA, Nutwatch? - 12 month spends to date = 2.60% of current retirement "pot" (as at end May 2025)
