porting from orange-->virgin--> back to orange

My orange contract is finishing soon and I want to get a new contract on orange.

Does anyone know what's the best network to port your number to if you want to port back to orange again. Is there a minimum amount of time before you can request your PAC again from virgin?

I did this (orange -> virgin PAYG -> orange) this time last year and there wasn't a minimum time.

The problem was they don't always have immediately available slots for PAC porting.

In the end, bearing in mind the two number portings, it took me two weeks or so to get it all done.

Sooner you start the quicker it's done though.

Thanks. My contract finishes in about 10 days so i'll give them a call in about 3-4 days.
  • Rather than start a new thread, thought i'd add onto the end of this one.

I'm currently coming to the end of my 12 month Orange contract & am looking to get a new 12 month cashback deal. I've seen a few for Vodafone but I've read that is pretty much impossible to port my number across to them, so the next best one is again on Orange.

Am I able to move to Orange PAYG and then onto the new 12 month contract, or do I have to port my number to a different networks PAYG, & then port it back to an Orange contract? If so, are there any networks I should avoid (i.e. being notorious for not porting numbers across, apart from Voda)

    Any advice is much appreciated.

I think it has to be different networks - I know that o2 payg must be activated with min £10 top up before you can port the number so I would avoid them
