                    Hello
I have a lease contract hire car with a leasing company (18month contract)
I was charged an admin fee off £18.00(for a parking ticket i received - and paid) - as they claimed its for transfer of liability.
I refused to pay this admin charge because it is not mentioned in the T&C's ...
and is not part of the monthly payment i make for my car (£150 - which i paid on time)
subsequentley this has now affected my credit file .....
any advice would be much appreciated

Are you sure it's not in the contracr, any lease car I have had always specified a fee for dealing with speeding/parking tickets.
If not then you should lodge a formal complaint and escalate to ombudsman if no joy.0

            Who’s the car with?0

Hello m8.... I have the online copy of the T&C's see below for part on charges...
its not mentioned of any parking charge admin fees
 ""
pay on time all licence fees, charges (including congestion
charges), taxes and other sums due relating to the vehicle or its
use. We may pay the amount of such charges for you. You will
then repay that amount to us on demand together with such sum
as we consider reasonable to cover our administration costs
connected with the charge. Our costs will be at least £40 plus
 VAT; """"0

It says it quite clearly in what you posted:

connected with the charge. Our costs will be at least £40 plus

Yep - it's a fee charged by all lease/car hire companies. Quite industry standard - and in your quoted terms and conditions there. What made you not pay it when it's clearly there?0

Two things: what if the charge was not valid and you wanted to contest it? And I would not let it rest that they've hit you with a marker at the CRAs. This is not what credit referencing is about. They are basically using it as blackmail and punishment.0

It’s really not - it forms a part of the contract0

Because they charged me the admin fee in january and it took them 3 months to refund as my parking ticket was sucesfully appealed.
Also the admin charge is not part of the monthly instalment that I pay for the car... both are seperate charges.... so this admin charge should not relfect on my credit file0

An admin charge of £36.00 is sperate to the monthly cost of my car (which i pay on time) the admin charge is a self made charge by the company... both are seperate0
