Car Lease company - charged me admin fee for parking ticket

Hello

I have a lease contract hire car with a leasing company (18month contract)
I was charged an admin fee off £18.00(for a parking ticket i received - and paid) - as they claimed its for transfer of liability.
I refused to pay this admin charge because it is not mentioned in the T&C's ...

and is not part of the monthly payment i make for my car (£150 - which i paid on time)
subsequentley this has now affected my credit file .....

any advice would be much appreciated

Are you sure it's not in the contracr, any lease car I have had always specified a fee for dealing with speeding/parking tickets.

If not then you should lodge a formal complaint and escalate to ombudsman if no joy.

Hello m8.... I have the online copy of the T&C's see below for part on charges...

its not mentioned of any parking charge admin fees

    ""

charges), taxes and other sums due relating to the vehicle or its

Yep - it's a fee charged by all lease/car hire companies. Quite industry standard - and in your quoted terms and conditions there. What made you not pay it when it's clearly there?
  • Two things: what if the charge was not valid and you wanted to contest it? And I would not let it rest that they've hit you with a marker at the CRAs. This is not what credit referencing is about. They are basically using it as blackmail and punishment.
  • It’s really not - it forms a part of the contract

Because they charged me the admin fee in january and it took them 3 months to refund as my parking ticket was sucesfully appealed.

Also the admin charge is not part of the monthly instalment that I pay for the car... both are seperate charges.... so this admin charge should not relfect on my credit file
