Tui have changed our flights to Ibiza in June to Olympus Airlines. We aren’t bothered to be honest as there’s nothing special about Tui planes. There’s people on Trip Advisor who have actually cancelled their holidays due to the change of airline and moaned that they have lost all their money! Ridiculous.
Can you post a link to this? I need a laugh today.
From what I've read on Tripadvisor, TUI customers appear to be pretty obsessed about the airline.
    will it be a dreamliner?
what is the best seat on the dreamliner?
what food will I be served?
what will the in-flight entertainment be?

I've been on a Dreamliner. We had edible food and pretty comfy seats. Just like the majority of other planes I've been on.

I've been on a Boeing 787 too (not TUI but Qatar).

    It was pretty uncomfortable.
It's the only plane I've ever been on where my rucksack wouldn't fit under the seat in front.

Fair enough questions if you are going long haul, but hardly matters for European jaunts. Cancelling a whole holiday and losing a deposit over a change of plane on a trip to Greece...absolute lunacy.

As always it's more about the airline than the aircraft. I've been on a 777 with American Airlines and it was brilliant. On the other hand I've been on a 777 with BA and it was atrocious.

    Of course it is.
Each airline specifies how they want the cabin layout.
I just didn't feel comfortable on Qatar 787 - and I'm less than 5 feet tall and weigh less than 9 stone so it's not a height/weight issue.

    I think it's lunacy too.
My comment was just an indication of how obsessive some TUI passengers can be.

I've not seen any of the posts on TA - but they may be on the Ibiza board which I don't look at.

Look at the Tenerife forums on TA. That’s where I saw the threads about Tui changing the airline. Hilarious! As for the Dreamliner, there are lots of threads about it on the TA airline forum. Some frequent posters from the USA are bemused about the Dreamliner being a magic plane, and make some funny albeit sarcastic remarks about it.

I've never understood this obsession with the flight element of a holiday. Mind you I spent 22 years in the RAF travelling around the world in the back of a C130-Hercules or the "luxury" of a VC10 and more recently I'm a great supporter of RyanAir (or indeed most budget airlines) and have traveled to lots of great places with them. They get you from A to B safely (and hopefully as cheaply as possible), end of.
