Santander have looked at older cases again, there are examples on this forum so it's not impossible even for a 2013 case that they have looked at it now and decided to reject but offer Plevin
I doubt the OP will be back to clarify...

Hi, sorry to be the bearer of bad tidings, but, I have made two unsuccessful claims for PPI on a Burtons card against Santander, the first in 2011 before the 'Plevin' case and the other last year. Like you, our cases are almost identical, opened in store etc, etc. We had the original documentation and after the second rejection, we referred it to the F.O.S. They upheld the rejection for the reasons many have stated on this forum. I know this is not what you wanted to hear and we were very disappointed, but there is a chink of light. Due to the FCA ruling earlier this year, all rejected cases should be reviewed under 'Plevin', undisclosed commission, which the F.O.S supported in our case. Last weekend we had an offer from Santander for redress of the commission which was 55%. Santander had taken 8 months to look at this but it appears they are now working through a large backlog of cases. Hope this helps in some small way, so if you do not succeed in the PPI, the commission should realise you some sort of refund! Best of luck

🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣. Seems like I wasnt 'wasting my time fighting the bank' as I have today received a letter from them , thanking me for supplying them with further evidence in support of my complaint and telling me that they can now agree that the PPI policy was not suitable for my needs.

My complaint has been upheld and once I send back the acceptance form they will transfer the funds directly to my bank account.

Given that the amount I actually paid in premiums was very small , added to 22 years worth of interest Im more than happy to accept the amount they have offered :j

Hello. I had only read the beginning and was about to say that we have 3 cases in with Santander one previously being denied 8 years ago for a store card my husband has. They did the exact same thing denied us and sent a copy and he hadn’t ticked it either and it was definitely someone else’s handwriting. Anyway they knocked us back full and final. Turned out nearly all store cards where kniecked back then. Change th clock move house twice and we receive a letter from Santander inviting us to apply for Plevin on this card. This was the 15/4/19. We did but my husband got the exact same call as you on Friday asking employment details and they have reopened the full claim so not just Plevin. So that’s what they must be doing.
Anyway great success and gives me hope. How long did you wait in total. We are on week 7. Xx

Of course they did. Enjoy the "refund"

People are rich because they spend less money. A poor man buys $10 boots that last a season or two before he's walking in wet shoes and has to buy another pair. A rich man buys $50 boots that are made better and give him 10 years of dry feet. The poor man has spent $100 over those 10 years and still has wet feet.

Totally agree. I’m fed up with everyone’s negativity and condescending attitude to those claiming ppi. You think we were taking the money from their pockets!! Really stops you wanting to post anything at all or ask a question!!

Dont give up just because of the attitude of some people on here.

I DID make a post to that effect a few days ago...but as usual any posts that dont agree with the 'long standing' members will get deleted...

If you feel that you were mis-sold then dont back down. If the Company issue you with their final answer rejecting your coplaint then you have 6 months to take your complaint to the Ombudsman for their consideration.

    Dont give up 😂

Im convinced the assistant got me to sign the agreement BEFORE she filled in most of the other parts and THEN she ticked the PPI box....

All the info - employment status ,form of identification provided & mothers maiden name are ALL incorrect!

Im certain I would have noticed all of these had they been on the agreement when it was passed to me to sign.

Well, all I can say is good luck in proving all that! If you would like me to try and fight your case for you, just send me a signed blank cheque and I will fill everything in for you!

I always find it interesting how some people can remember what happened "many years" ago when making a claim, but always forgot the monthly reminders at the time (Statements)
I work in Data Protection and spend my days dealing with CMC's. Only here trying to help!!
