Moving house - what to do with old crockery

Not really in the right section but this is the only one I come on ! Moving imminently - anyone know what I can do with about 30, mismatched, old, scratched plates and mugs? Apparently you can't recycle them. :o

Take them with you and carry on using them. Or take them with you and use them for drainage in the bottom of plant pots.

If they're chipped/scratched/unsellable, please don't inflict them on the charity shop... They have to pay to bin 'em. You don't.

If you don't want to put 'em in the landfill bin, then take 'em to the local tip. Or see if there's a local art charity that might want 'em for breaking into mosaic fragments.

Take out any frustrations during the moving process by smashing them up?

What, because theres a big market for "mismatched, old, scratched plates and mugs" ?

Dont foist junk on charity shops, they need to sell stuff, not act as a replacement for the tip.

Sort through the better bits, some things like teacups and saucers are actually very saleable via charity shops for vintage tea parties or summer weddings where the theme is shabby chic.

Depending if you live on a road where people walk up and down, pop it all in a box with a note "free to take" and the chances are it will be gone by the end of the day....again apparently its becoming the thing to do with items you no longer need.

Freecycle/Gumtree - some one may well take them to use in arts and crafts projects.
