6 month broadband

Hi all.

I'm renting a flat for six months. Anyone know the best option for getting fibre broadband for just six months? Most contracts seem to be 12 or 18 months.

My SD is a student and has had hers on a monthly contract with Plusnet - costs a bit more as you might expect
  • Plusnet does indeed off no-contract broadband, for £23.99 per month (+£50 activation). However, this is only regular broadband (10Mbps) whereas I need something faster.

What about 4g? EE have a 4g router w/ wifi (there is an unlimited data deal)

  • Interesting idea, thanks. Maybe I'm looking in the wrong place but I couldn't see an unlimited deal, only expensive limited ones, like 50GB per month for £40 + £100 activation., so £340 total for six months!

By comparison, Post Office Unlimited Fibre Broadband is £20.67 per month (according to MSE), so £248 for 12 months.
  • Better still is this NOW Broadband: 36Mbps Fibre with Free Anytime Calls for £25 per month. No activation fee, but £90 cashback through Top Cashback. Equals £210 for 12 months.

(Also includes Includes 6 months NOW TV Entertainment Pass.)

Try HomeFi from 3 (unlimited for £22/m)

  • That HomeFi deal is a 24 month minimum. But I'm only looking for six months because after that I'm expecting to move to somewhere with Hyperoptic.
  • In case anyone is interested, Now Broadband will put you on a rolling monthly contract if you pay a £60 setup fee. So that's what I've done. Monthly rates are the same as if you took a 12 month contract.
