Holiday Refund - HELP

Hi All,
First time post on here and genuinely looking for help regarding a holiday my partner booked last week for the two of us. I found a hotel on stayforlong.co.uk via Trivago's website, as we all know they scour the web for the best deal. I found a hotel in Majorca that I liked the look of so decided to book. Through Trivago the cheapest deal was on stayforlong.co.uk as stated. Upon hitting their site there were two deals they were offering (a Special 32% off limited time offer) for bed & breakfast or half board. I chose half board and left it in my partners hands to book. Get home from work and she has booked Bed & Breakfast by accident instead (HOW i do not know!?) Now the price difference between the two is £70 (Special Offer Price) so she rings them up yesterday to ask if we can change our booking to HB and that she made a mistake. Received an email back this afternoon saying they cannot change the booking. Needless to say I am not happy. Nearly £700 each for bed and breakfast. As it was a so called limited time special offer, they will not give us a refund either, which ultimately now, I want. Can anyone shed any light on the legality of not refunding? I can't see how they can do this? The departure date isnt until June 30th this year so its not as if its last minute. Any help appreciated
Thanks

What do the T&C say about cancellations?
Ultimately your OH booked the wrong thing, unless I'm mistaken....which means the fault lies on your side not the travel company.....0 -
It is down to their T&C's

Thanks for the reply. I'm going to have a thorough read of the T&C's when I get home after work. I'm pretty much resigned to what you said about the fault lying with her, was just unsure about where we stand as its at least 8 weeks until we go away0

But you said that she booked the wrong one by accident so the fault is on your end not the travel websitesunandstars wrote: »Get home from work and she has booked Bed & Breakfast by accident insteadI’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the Quick Grabbit, Freebies, Overseas Holidays & Travel Planning and the UK Holidays, Days Out & Entertainments boards.

Just to add to the above, despite the .co.uk url, stayforlong.co.uk is a Spanish online travel provider.
"I found a hotel on stayforlong.co.uk via Trivago's website, as we all know they scour the web for the best deal."
- Not saying anything is wrong with stayforlong but you mention Trivago scouring the web for the best deal as if they are some sort of consumer champion and vanguard. Trivago is no more than a meta search engine and the results returned will often include many dubious websites. Recently people have been down this Trivago route with Galahotels (Turkish) and Tripsta (Greek) only to find their cheap deal disappear when these overseas based businesses went bust. You should not just search on price alone but also research who you are giving your money to. dealing with an overseas based third party when things go wrong or need attention can be frustrating.
Hope you get satisfactory resolution from https://www.stayforlong.co.uk0 -

The 8 week thing could be critical....have a good but quick read and hopefully it's only a minor deposit that you lose rather than anything substantial.0 -
"limited time offer" are the key words , many of the Hotels that I deal with have the same and any change after the expiry of that particular offer will be at the new rates0
