Asus zenfone software update

my asus phone wont let me log into my online banks as the update is now not compatible with this phone. Is there anyway I can update the software I need android 5.0.

It wont update if I go into settings>software update.
the phone works fine so don't really want to buy a new one

Yes but your bank may not support that either. New phone time or no more mobile banking via the app.

Or use a browser on the phone instead.

One of the problems of buying from the less than mainstream Chinese manufacturers is the lack of updates.

The newest model (the Zenphone 6) has an update to Android Lollipop 5.0.2, but many of the earlier versions are only Kitkat 4.4.2 with no further update released.

Your only options are to try and access your bank via the internet browser or buy a new phone.

Thats the beauty iPhones!
Updates for at least 5 years after they stop selling the model so even a second hand one should still be updated.The 5s came out in 2013 and is still running the latest software.
I would not want to do mobile banking on an old Android.
