Silver-oldie I am really sorry to hear your news. Thoughts are with you and Mr SO
No real plans today bar more work. Developing a severe case of cabin fever now. BBQ pulled pork for dinner with some trimmings if I can be bothered prepping them
Yesterday I didn't get my planned module finished as it just all got on top of me so I stopped and binged instead on 3 episodes of Line of Duty. This would probably explain the weird dreams
TA no great surprise with Bettys I think some people visit Harrogate just to go there. I do like it but I think there are better places there to eat. I am a little partial to their fat rascals though
Nothing much else to report so have a good sunday if you can0 -
So sorry to read your news SO. I hope you can hold fast to the happy memories.
The friend who visited DM reported back that she was a little below par although optimistic about her future. He also said that the staff were very kind to her. Perhaps I met a different bunch! DM got engrossed in the Saturday crossword and was texting him some answers already. I'll be going in this afternoon so am looking forward to 'good things'.
After that I have some dry cleaning to collect. Exciting? :rotfl:
I've been doing my hip strengthening exercises and am shocked about how weak it is. All this just creeps up slowly without any signs. Now I've ordered some therapy bands to add some resistance to a couple of the exercises.
TA - your day out sounds lovely. I used to visit Harrogate regularly as I had friends who lived there. It's a beautiful place. They moved to Saltburn which is a fascinating place.
Taff - you made laugh at your jigsaw friends, glad they're helping you through this time.
I hope everyone is doing well, thoughts to all those struggling. Happy Sunday to all.0 -
So sorry to hear about your mum SO. My condolences to you and your family.
Taff nearly there. At least your friends are coming with you instead of using the hospital transport.
I couldn't get warm all day yesterday and spent most of the day dozing on the sofa wrapped in a duvet. The forecast is for a few degrees higher today, I hope they are right.
The main plan for today is getting some housework done. Every room I went into yesterday I noticed something that needed cleaning. Other than that, I don't have any real plans.
Have a good day everyone.0 -

Morning all
SilverOldie I'm so sorry to read about your DM. As others have said it was expected, but it still doesn't prepare you for the wave of sadness. Many hugs coming your way xx.
It's Sunday again ! I'm sure there's more than one during a week :rotfl:.
The DW is on and the kitchen tidied. Nothing more to do today than cooking....... again ! However after last weekends cooking fest I'm going easy on myself. I found some pork steaks in the freezer while sorting it yesterday, so we will have those with roast pots, swede, mixed peas and broccoli and roast carrots and parsnips. All the veg is from the freezer, except the pots, so it feels a bit like I'm cheating today :rotfl:.
Dad is due for lunch and tea and I'm wondering what gems of TV we have apparently missed this week. He now understands that we have catch up TV etc and he tries to get us to watch something he enjoyed during the week and it's usually nothing we are remotely interested in........ hence the reason we didn't watch it in the first place .
Taff on the last straight now, the winning post is in view ! :j.
Holly look after your self lovely. Look forward to your people watching and some nice weather again. Yesterday I found the cold too and I even put the heating on.
Gers I hope you have a nicer day today. I think people are going at such a fast rate that sometimes they seem to forget how to be civil. ( we had a case of that during this week too) Hope your DM is in good spirits when you visit.
Nelski do I need to crack the whip ? I'm enjoying Line Of Duty too, mind you I've got a bit of a crush on Steve Arnott, he's not my normal type ( more Thor  ) but there's just something about him
TA I hope you enjoy having your new visitor. Sky is a lovely name.
dp1 I hope your little DGD goes on from strength to strength.
Dumpling Have I missed your posts lately ? Are you Ok ?
Thinking of Poppy and Snoozers Steve and the MIA's
Well I suppose I should get the potatoes peeled ready for lunch. How long should my coffee break last ? Do you think I could string it out indefinitely ? :rotfl:.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need for any reason.
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently0 -
Morning all. SO sorry to hear your news. Have a vitual hug from me. taff the end is in sight! Holly H go steady with the housework
DS took me to Tosco yesterday evening which was nice. I probably won't need an online order this week. The wind had died down too.
Not much planned today. I may put a wash load on in a minute and check if the washing on the radiator airers is dry. John is cooking a roast tonight.
Well have a good day folks.
