This is is an “over the garden fence” type thread where we chat about everything Old Style and maybe a little bit more. It’s a great, inspiring and motivating thread we start each day to discuss what Old Style things we’re going to do today or what we’ve achieved already. Everyone’s welcome, please do come in, put your feet up (although check the fence hasn’t just been painted first!) and join us for an Old Style natter. The more the merrier!
As this is the Old Style Board, it would be appreciated if posts could include some Old Style content. Please be aware that many people may have small screens, or SLOW internet connections, so please don’t post large pictures, or clip art – links are preferred. When you make a post, if you feel like giving it a title, that will help others that don’t have the time to read everything skim through the thread quickly but if not it's not a problem. Please do not start a new daily thread before you go to bed at night because this often leaves things confusing with two daily threads live at the same time. The idea is that a member would start each new daily thread after they get up in the morning.

Morning everyone
SO - sorry to hear your sad news, thinking of you x
Hugs to those that want/need one, those who are poorly and those who are looking after a poorly person x
Cloudy and now raining but less blustery this morning.
DH and myself up and enjoying first cuppas, DS1 still in his pit, DS2 settled and ok.
Dinner last night was pizza, scotch eggs, pork pie, chips, side salad, coleslaw. Lunch today will be roast chicken, mash, veg and gravy.
Yesterday work was quite busy and passed quickly. We visited both sets of parents in the afternoon, just watched tv and chilled. This morning I'm going to mum's to get her back packed for going away - wish me luck with that! Don't want to be there too long as I need to pack too, although I've got most of what's needed out already.
Keep safe and well x

SILVER OLDIE I was so sad to read your news. I know it was imminent but even so it's a shock when it happens. Love and strength to you in the coming weeks with the funeral to organise.
Today is a much better day here, the sky is blue and the sun is shining, which is lovely to see after yesterday's rain. I think we have seen the worst of the weather for now.
We had a good day out in Harrogate yesterday, despite dodging the heavy showers. Thankfully the wind had changed direction before hitting us. We browsed a few cs before hitting the height of fashion houses that is Prima*k!! We all bought a few items there. Lakela*d was also a port of call for some bits I wanted. I wish we had one nearer, there isn't even a branch in Leeds I don't think! Then a late lunch. Sadly not Betty's NELSKI! But would you believe there was even a queue in that weather!
I have a visitor coming this morning! DS to introduce the new addition to their family. A Staffy puppy called Sky! They picked her up at last on Friday. He has kept showing me photos of her development since birth and I can't wait to meet her! They will have their work cut out now!
I am cooking a gammon joint for my lunch, with lots of veg. No doubt the gammon will keep me going for the next 4 days as it usually does!
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) as always for the poorlies and carers. Hope yesterday was a better day for GERS with no encounters with rude people and thinking especially of SILVER OLDIE xxx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"0 -

Sory to hear your news SO. When I lost my mother I felt like half an orphan, it didn't really hit me for a while even though we knew it was going to happen. I hope your son steps up to help you in the weeks ahead and that things can be arranged as smoothly as possible.
Penultimate radio today, two of my friends are taking me again today, it's like a road trip with them instead of treatment, trying to drag them away from the hopsital jigsaw was very funny yesterday. One of them is already an addict and borrowed a jigsaw off me when we got back, after a side trip to Pizza Hut where I haven't been for over twenty years. I brought half the pizza home with me and had it for supper last night. Very nice too, thin base with extra cheese, rocket and mushrooms.
Weather was awful yesterday too, we got stuck behind an accident, three cars, one of them had flipped and rolled, hope all the people involved were OK after treatment..it's a notorious road for that, there's always one idiot who wants to overtake when they shouldn't.
Wotcha MIA's. Extra hugs SO...
Sedate Sunday....Non me fac calcitrare tuum culi0 -
