Student loans and self employed

I have a student loan which i pay off on a yearly basis being self employed. I pay this in Jan of every year, however the account accrues interest throughout the year.
I am in a position that i have the money for student loan for previous tax year sitting in my account, can i pay it off early or will i be asked to pay it again next jan if they haven't updated their system? I am at a point i can probably just pay the remainder off in one go.
Thanks for any help.

You can make payments directly to the SLC this then shows on your online account
So if you clear it in full it should update but you need to call them to pay so ask when you do.
I cleared mine over the phone and as a result deductions ceased.0 -
Hello there, I too had the problem earlier, now it's all clear.
