What are your pension payments like Hanabris? This could be a very expensive mistake.

£498, could have been less if I had taken the mortgage over a shorter time. Am also over paying by at least £10 a week.
Paid off the last of my unsecured debts in 2016. Then saved up and bought a property. Current aim is to pay off my mortgage as early as possible. Currently over paying every month. Mortgage due to be paid off in 2036 hoping to get it paid off much earlier. Set up my own bespoke spreadsheet to manage my money.

£359 per month and currently overpaying an additional £50 a month so £409. Only 339 payments left!

£1600. We bought a bigger house 2 years ago and doubled our monthly payments. We are savers, not spenders so have a decent amount of equity and savings in case of emergency.

We don't overpay, however we do offset which has been a massive saving for us. We were very fortunate to be able to pay off our previous mortgage much quicker than we though due to offsetting so I am hopeful we can do the same with this one.
