New Will

Options
Basically my Aunt made a will some time ago and I knew the contents of it and her wishes. She has sadly just died and I've just found out from her friend that a couple of weeks ago she made a new will. As her next of kin I wanted to know what happens now? Do I just arrange the funeral and wait to be contacted by the Solicitors? Just don't really know if I'm supposed to still "take charge" of things.

Is this "new" will signed and witnessed ?

Contact the solicitor of the "old" will - they might have details.

Do you know what your aunt wanted in the way of a funeral ? Beware that if you contact the Funeral Director it's you that is liable for their costs.
Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill

The new will was all signed. Would I have to contact the new solicitors? Also I know it sounds terrible but making the arrangements will be very expensive for me as a lot of travel on top of the usual expenses will have to be made. Should I just try to keep receipts?

See the will first. Do nothing till you find out who the executor is.
Her estate should pay tge funeral costs

Don’t do anything until you know who the executor. Ask the solicitor who drew up the new will.

Not until you know if you are the executor. Otherwise they would within reason claimable.

You can't claim for travel expenses to a funeral unless the will specifically says you can.

I dont think they meant travel expenses to the funeral.
Expenses related to going to solicitors, banks etc.
Not sure so keep them anyway and the solicitor will guide you,

Why are you piling in to organise and pay if you dont even know if you are an executor ?
