I want to end my contract early but EE say it cannot be cancelled until 30 days before the end date.
My son has a contract with ID and was able to cancel it immediately.
Are EE correct ?

Not precisely. You can give 30 day's notice to end before the minimum term, BUT you will be charged an early termination fee to cover the rest of the minimum term. If you are complaining that they won't let you give a longer notice I'm on your side and it's wrong they try and stop you. Given the difficulty of getting networks to accept a longer notice (even though in their t&c there's often nothing to stop you doing that I'd wait until exactly 30 days before the end of the minimum term and then give notice.0

ID Mobile contracts are 30 day rolling, so you can cancel at anytime with 30 days notice. If you are partially through a 12/18 month contract, why would you assume you could just cancel without paying up the remainder of your contract?0

You can cancel early, but you can’t give notice early. Just ring up and tell them you want to cancel early and pay your early termination fee.====0 -
I don't mind paying the cancellation fee , just want to change to SIM only0

Why? It’s like burning money.
You’re going to pay your monthly cost times months left with a small discount for the cancellation fee and then going to start paying for those same months as an additional cost on the sim only contract.====0 -
