Just had a text from 3 today saying they are going to be increasing my monthly fee for my SIMO contract by 2.5% starting from May's bill.
Bit of an unwise thing for them to do seeing as I am only on a 30 day rolling contract. They obviously don't want to keep customers.

I believe they started using RPI on SIMO tariffs from sometime in December of last year.
Unwise? Yes, but like Vodafone, they once touted 'Fixed means Fixed' but have jumped on the same bandwagon o2, EE, Virgin Media etc have.
AFAIK, only Tesco, Sky Mobile and Plusnet don't use RPI these days. It's not your credit score that counts, it's your credit history. Any replies are my own personal opinion and not a representation of my employer.0 -
I guess 'Fixed means Fixed' refers to the minimum term of long contracts.
It's unrealistic to expect the price to remain the same for a 1-month contract. It will rise sooner or later and it's better if it does in small steps in line with RPI than jumps a lot once in several years0 -
They changed the terms and conditions of 12 month SIM only too, giving customers the opportunity to leave early and penalty free, if they wanted to.
It’s hard to find better deals than Three’s “unlimited data and unlimited tethering” for £20/month.0 -
I've been on the same 30 day rolling SIMO contract since February last year. If I remember correctly I got a discount on it saving £4 a month based on the actual advertised price of the plan at the time to keep me as a customer.
I suppose it wouldn't be hard to find a sweet deal elsewhere for the same cost then ring up 3 and seeing what they offer again to keep me. I'm sure this 2.5% will soon disappear for another year.0
