I would not let my parents (any of them) travel by themselves. But I really awed by your father. That a very nice that he is enjoying every day and interested in seeing new places. I wish I will be in such a mood when will be 70
Parents are adults. It's their choice how they spend their time. It's not your decision.
That may be an unfortunate turn of phrase in that what you really mean is that it would worry you. That's commendable. I know I'd worry about my children travelling the world on their own too but it wouldn't be my decision to make.0 -

Nobody will "let" or not "let" me do anything that is not illegal. A single's holiday is absolute bliss - you are not tied to the company of any one person - you are free to go off on your own when you wish, or join in with group outings or activities if that is your choice.0 -

I think your attitude will have changed completely when you reach 70.
It's really not old at all.
70 is the new 40.It's your money. Except if it's the governments.0 -
Have you looked at Saga Holidays? I haven't tried them myself (a bit too young still) but know someone who has.
Done 3 Saga Holidays, and recommend these....
- Jewels of Croatia....3 centre coach tour.
- Ramada Hotel and Suites, Kranjska Gora, Slovenia.
Just returned from the Slovenia trip. It was very enjoyable, with a great bunch of like-minded 'oldies', including two solo 90+ gents, one of whom [aged 94!!] had flown on his tod from North Carolina, via Altanta and Paris for his 3 weeks in beautiful Slovenia.
Many holidays don't have a single supplement levied, and are excellent vfm.
Dunt cost owt to ask for their brochures......and they do like sending out Holiday Brochures!
Also Shearing Coach Holidays have loads of choices in UK and on the Continent. Most clients are 60+ with plenty of singletons. I'm off on a Lads Reunion to Spain soon, and not being one to leave my Mrs out, I've booked her on a Shearings holiday to The Scottish Highlands which I know she'll enjoy [if she dunt I'm in the brown stuff!].0
