The way I see it, 1 of 2 things must be true:
1. Their terms don't say that battery problems can't have mail in returns, and they were just being awkward.
or 2. People on the phone are more likely to let you have a mail in repair than people on live chat.
Whichever is true my best bet seems to be to call up again, I will update this thread if anything comes of it.
