Hello people in my tablet 👋 I have made an OP of £555 so that gives me £1,000 to overpay by 31st October to reach my annual allowance; it will the first time I’ve made it.  Finally got my roof done and paid for so another thing off the list.  Having a saga trying to get a doctors appointment.  It will be 4 weeks on Wednesday since I filled in an online form.  All I’ve had so far is 2 standard texts, one saying 2/3 weeks before we will get in touch with an appointment and then another at the 3 week point saying not forgotten about you and you’re on the list for a routine appointment, we’ll be in touch when one is available.  I think my first mistake was clicking the routine appointment button.  I can’t believe I haven’t had a triage call.  I’m beginning to think things will never go back to “normal”.  It was never great getting in at my practice but you were normally in around 2 weeks.  Still working in my front bedroom and will be until at least January so nothing seems to be changing much.  Hope you are all well 🌸

  • Four weeks is too long. For mine they have an online form but if you call and get through to the receptionist, I ask to be put on the telephone list. Quite often a call is sufficient anyway so saves everyone time. Don’t hesitate to ask to speak to the practice manager to complain if needed.

Hello!  Where on earth does the time go?  My boy is back at school and I’m working on the kitchen table, a change from the spare bedroom.  I decided that if I would be permanently working at least a few days a week from home then the room needed making into a proper space.  My 8 year old is helping me (🙃) but the aim is the study by the end of October and his room by Christmas.  So far we have stripped the walls, filled and sanded, pulled off the old skirtings and got new on 2 walls.  Not bad going in 2 weeks when there is just me and I work FT.  Got a couple of larger areas to plaster where a cupboard was removed and then I’ll get a quote for overboarding and skimming the ceiling.  I need to get some more supplies ordered too.  So basically no overpayments for a while.

Started thinking about Christmas.  I’ve just booked the local panto but I’m giving the Santa special a miss.  They have even removed the mince pie and hot chocolate from the event and obviously the price has increased.  Bought him 2 presents and going to order some bits I’ve seen in a sale for my niece and nephews.  Trying to be enthusiastic and organised, let’s see how that goes.

i ended up speaking to a doctor after 5 weeks, nothing they can do to help that I’m not already doing so I asked her for a sick note and had 2 weeks off.  The rest did me the world of good and now I’m just trying to be kind to myself, which I’m not terribly good at.  Well lunch break is over so back to the kitchen table, take care everyone 👋

Hello everyone.  No mortgage overpayments for me recently as I now donate my salary directly to B &Q 🤣. Things are going slowly but I’ve got the quote for overboarding and skimming the ceiling in the study.  It was about what I’d expected and the guy has an excellent reputation hence the potential 2 month wait.  He’ll put me on a list but he’s got 2 big jobs he’s waiting on but they are waiting for the windows; it’s always the windows!  He basically doing the smaller jobs but if the big ones happen then us smaller peeps get pushed back.  It’s only a one full day job so might get a shoe in before the 2 month mark.  Started a bit of Christmas shopping but my son hasn’t decided what he would like from Santa.  I’m just getting him bits and pieces this year.  Been for my free flu jab tonight (less than gentle!) and my arm hurts now 😒. My house and garden are currently a total mess but my food cupboards are full after being gifted 3 bags of tins and dried goods; very much appreciated 🙏🥫🍚🍝
