Glass table shattered out of warrenty

Hi
I purchased a glass patio table and chairs from JD Williams on 21st April 2018.
I can home yesterday (23rd April 2019) to find it had spontaneously shattered and now my patio is covered in glass. This happened 2 days out of the year warranty. JD Williams have offered to come and collect it (bring a broom guys!) and inspect it, but what are my rights? Am I entitled to a replacement or refund.
Asides from the money, this seems to be a safety issue that others who own the set might need to be aware of.
Any thoughts appreciated!

Entitlement after 6 months, they may require you to provide an independent report stating that the glass is inherently faulty (and not knocked over the BH...)
If found inherently faulty you are entitled to a replacement, a repair, or a refund which can take into account your years use.
That is your legal entitlement. JD Williams may deal with you differently.0 -
Unless it can be shown that something such as a warped frame was the possible cause, it will be just about impossible to prove what actually caused it to shatter.
It could have been dodgy glass (something as simple as a small air bubble in it can cause this), or it might have been a stone thrown up by a car or dropped by a bird.
At least the retailer are offering to come and collect and possibly investigate which is a lot more than many other retailers would do.0 -
Quick update:
I've just been given a full refund. After speaking to the call centre and being offered a partial refund depending on the outcome of an inspection, I sent a complaint email including photos. I also tweeted them with a photo.
A hour later, they offered a full refund as account credit or a cheque. Happy days! :j0
