I read that link , where does it say Microsoft have admitted it . Ergo you are the rude and misguided person here, try again with your new knowledge perhaps, and come back when you have something useful to add,:D

    This:

Me: "All new files/foldsrs etc I add manually to the base folder l sync across all devices, right?"

    MS"Yes, that is correct."

The key word here being manual.

So I suggest you m like other posters, get my point, which you obviously have not so far, and reconsider with that new knowledge.

Yes, it will sync up fine as long as files/folders are added on one device, but not in the way I have it set up
    .

Try listening instead of aggressively and rudely forcing your opinions on people.

I see my post has been removed but has been quoted by the OP, love to know why but hey it was probably because I accused the OP of being rude to others, no worries

    No.

Sorry but do not accuse me unfairly of having a "bad attitude" just for sticking up for myself against one individual who misunderstood my point, insulting me into the bargain.

Who is going to respond well to being called an "idiot", especially when their words have clearly been misunderstood?

Even if someone had made an honest mistake, not being an expert on how computers work would not make them an idiot and those who start spraying misguided insults around have to expect them back.

I was not saying that I expected folders not added to the original backup would be somehow backed up. That is moreover an insult to my intelligence. I do not come on here with a "bad attitude", I defended myself against someone else's.

The point I keep trying to make and have been misguidedly attacked for is why new files and folders added to already synced up folders - NOT folders added to the backup, which the poster who called me an "idiot" wrongly assumed I meant- are not syncing up. I have turned on Auto Save in Settings and added Protection.

Finally, thanks to people who have been helpful - and I have thanked them, hardly evidence of the bad attitude you accuse me of, we seem to be edging towards a solution that may also be of help to others who can be bothered to wade through the thread. It seems to me that One Drive will autosave Desktop, Pictures and Documents. Today it has synced up a bunch of photos I took on my phone yesterday.

Now I know that I suspect the issue here is that a number of my data files are saved on my C: drive rather than as subfolders in the Documents folders. So if I cut and paste the data files to the Documents folder I cannot see why it should not all sync up fine.

It will take time to find out as a bit of housekeeping on my PC id required. Thanks again to all those who have helped.
